Lefkara Lace

is a type of handmade intricate form of embroidery lace from Lefkara village of Cyprus passed down from generation to generation. However, it is is under threat of vanishing in Cypriot culture due to the underappreciation and problematic craft economy.

“Take your needle, my child, and work at your pattern; it will come out a rose by and by.

Life is like that - one stitch at a time taken patiently. and the pattern will come out all right like the embroidery.”
